If you are a registered voter in Albany County and have no changes in your name, address, party affiliation, you may call the County Clerk's office 721-2546 during business hours and request an absentee ballot by mail. The Clerk's office will start mailing these out approximately 40 days before the election date. Obviously, the sooner you request and return the ballots, the better.
A qualified voter may apply for an absentee ballot at any time during the calendar year in which the electionis held, but not on the day of the election. Remember to return your absentee ballot immediately to ensure delivery to the county clerk's office by 7 p.m. on electio day.
